PrimusLabs Receives ISO 17025 Accreditation

PrimusLabs Receives ISO 17025 Accreditation

PrimusLabs, provider of a comprehensive array of food safety services, has achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Accreditation 17025:2005 for each of its microbiological laboratories in the United States.

ISO accreditation is recognized as the international standard for laboratory practices. A PrimusLabs news release said the company believes that international accreditation will afford it greater recognition among global business interests. With the scope of accreditation for these labs now including methods performed on the recently acquired Roka Atlas System, PrimusLabs has enhanced its capabilities to perform highly accurate pathogen testing with swift turnaround times, according to the company.

“We are proud that all of our microbiological laboratories in the United States are now fully accredited by the A2LA [American Association for Laboratory Accreditation] to the ISO 17025:2005 standard for pathogen testing on water and minimally processed produce," said Robert F. Stovicek, president and CEO of Primus Group, Inc. "As we continue to see outbreaks in the news from pathogens such as Salmonella, and more recently, the increased number of non-O157 STEC cases, having this advanced technology included under the accreditation will serve to propagate advanced laboratory practices and validate the food safety programs of our clients.”

Santa Maria, CA-based PrimusLabs offers microbiological and pesticide residue testing, auditing, data management, and training programs. In addition to its four laboratories in the United States, PrimusLabs has offices in Chile and Costa Rica, as well as laboratories in Mexico. PrimusLabs’ Mexican laboratories in Culiacan and Irapuato are also accredited by EMA to the ISO 17025:2005 standard.
