FDA to Hold Food Defense Workshops Throughout the U.S.

By Staff

This fall, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will be convening a series of Food Defense Workshops around the country. The goal of these full-day workshops is to provide members of the food industry with an understanding of food defense, the tools and resources available, and to walk participants through a series of exercises on how to create a food defense plan for their facilities.

At each workshop, much of the day will be spent introducing the FDA’s Food Defense Plan Builder software program. Participants will be guided through a series of exercises using the tool and there will be open discussions and question and answer sessions throughout the day.

  • Oct. 5 – Las Vegas, NV; in cooperation with the American Bakers Association and the International Baking Industry Exposition.
  • Oct. 21 – Denver, CO; in cooperation with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

  • Oct. 23 – Albuquerque, NM; in cooperation with the Southwest Border Food Safety and Defense Center.
  • Nov. 6 – Chicago, IL; in cooperation with the International Dairy Foods Association at the International Dairy Show.
